NSS Residential Camp at Ambliyara village
The Institute of Management BBA-NSS Unit conducted the NSS Residential Camp from January 19-25, 2026 at Ambliyara village, Dholka, with the active participation of 48 NSS volunteers. The week-long camp focused on experiential learning and community engagement through awareness sessions on cybersecurity and environmental sustainability, along with creative activities for school children such as drawing competitions, kite-making, etc. Volunteers also gained exposure to rural livelihoods through farm-visit, engaged in embroidery workshops with village women, and participated in sports and cultural activities including Nukkad Natak. The camp concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, marking a meaningful week of service, learning, and cultural exchange that reinforced values of empathy, social responsibility, and community bonding.
NSS Residential Camp at Paliyad village
The NSS Unit of the Institute of Design organised a residential camp at Paliyad village from January 20-26, 2026 with the objective of promoting community development, social awareness, and holistic personality development among student volunteers. Some of the activities conducted during these seven days included, Face Painting, Temporary Tattoo Design, Matchstick Puzzles, Badge Design, Quiz, Geometrical Puzzle, a live sketching session, drawing competition, and Paper Mask making workshop, among others.
NSS Residential Camp at Rampura village
The NSS Unit of the Institute of Law conducted a residential camp at Rampura village from February 14-20, 2026. The camp began with a village survey and cleanliness drive, followed by workshops addressing key social issues and creative activities like tote bag painting. Initiatives such as ‘Skill to Skill’ and ‘Baal Panchayat’ encouraged participatory learning and leadership. The camp concluded with stronger community bonds and meaningful grassroots impact.
As part of the camp, the Centre for Criminal Law and Justice (CCLJ) at the Institute of Law, held a legal awareness session on February 17, 2026.
Blood Donation Camp
A Blood Donation Camp was organised on January 12, 2026 under the aegis of the Students Welfare Board, in collaboration with Spandan Club (IMNU), OrCES Club (ITNU), the NSS Unit of School of Technology (ITNU), Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, and Sarvodaya Blood Bank. The camp received an overwhelming response from the university community, resulting in the collection of 281 units of blood.
Legal Aid Committee outreach visit to the Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA)
The Legal Aid Committee at the Institute of Law organised a visit to the Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA), Ahmedabad on January 7, 2026. The visit aimed to raise awareness about gender equality, challenge social stereotypes, and empower women with knowledge and tools to address these issues confidently. The team conducted interactive discussions on domestic violence, explaining the protections provided under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. A discussion on cybercrime covered issues like online harassment and fraud, along with basic safety measures and legal provisions under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Visit to Centres of SPSS Foundation
Students of the Institute of Management visited the SPSS Foundation’s Kids Learning Centres, in two phases on February 21 and February 28, 2026. During the visits, volunteers engaged with children from underprivileged communities through interactive sessions on menstrual health awareness and career counselling. The team also conducted on-ground surveys by visiting the children’s homes to understand their daily routines, lifestyle, and family environment.
Stree Shakti 2026 – Women’s Health Awareness Initiative
The Institute of Management organised ‘Stree Shakti’ from February 9-10, 2026, focused on promoting women’s health awareness and empowerment. The first day, conducted at Naz Primary School, featured interactive sessions for students and mothers on menstrual hygiene, PCOD, nutrition, and pregnancy care, led by Dr Nikita Patel from Poojan IVF, along with the distribution of sanitary pads and essential items. The second day at Nirma University included health guidance session for female cleaning staff, where iron tablets were distributed and awareness was created on women’s health and well-being. The initiative aimed to break taboos and encourage informed health practices, marking Stree Shakti 2026 as a meaningful step toward fostering a healthier and empowered community.
Polio Awareness Drive
The NSS Unit of the Institute of Pharmacy organised a Polio Awareness Drive on March 3, 2026, as part of its social responsibility initiatives. The drive aimed to create awareness about polio, its causes, preventive measures and the importance of timely vaccination. The NSS volunteers interacted with community members, educated parents on the significance of immunization and emphasized completing the full vaccination schedule to ensure a polio-free society.
Road Safety Awareness Drive
The Nirma Volunteaching Movement (NVM) & NSS Unit (SoE) in association with ORCES organised a Road Safety Awareness Drive on March 23, 2026 aimed at promoting responsible road behaviour and safety consciousness among students. Centred around the theme ‘Not Me But You – Safety for All,’ the event featured a series of engaging activities including a Road Safety Rally, a Quiz Competition, an interactive ‘8 Making’ game, among others.
Visit of ADG – NCC to Nirma University
Major General Bimal Monga, Additional Director General (ADG) – NCC Gujarat, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, along with his officers, visited Nirma University on March 17, 2026. The visit commenced with a Guard of Honour ceremony presented by the NCC cadets, followed by an interaction session with the Vice President, Executive Registrar, HoIs, Associate NCC Officers, and NCC cadets, among other members. The interaction focused on themes of leadership, service, and national responsibility, inspiring the cadets and participants alike.
