NICOM 2026
The Institute of Management hosted the 29th Nirma International Conference on Management (NICOM 2026) from January 7-9, 2026, under the theme ‘Management Challenges – People, Practice, and Progress.’ The conference commenced with an inaugural address by Mr Sandeep Engineer (Chairman and Managing Director, Astral Ltd). A conference workshop was organised on ‘Educate, Empower and Engage Educators through Generative AI,’ facilitated by Mr Abhay Ranjan (AI Educator and Consultant), focusing on the application of generative AI to enhance teaching methodologies, learner engagement, and educational innovation. The conference concluded with a Valedictory Session graced by Mr Himanshu Shekhar Mishra (Senior Editor, NDTV India) as the Chief Guest, and Mr Gernot Hinteregger (Executive, Goldinvest & EMAS Technology) as the Guest of Honour.
NIPiCON 2026
The 8th Nirma Institute of Pharmacy International Conference (NIPiCON 2026) was held from January 29-31, 2026 at the Institute of Pharmacy on the theme ‘Transforming Healthcare: New Horizons in Pharmaceutical Sciences for Viksit Bharat.’ The event brought together around 600 delegates from India and abroad, including experts from USA, Australia, South Korea, and Malaysia, representing academia, industry, and healthcare sectors. The conference was inaugurated by Shri Kanubhai Patel, Co-Founder & Chairman, Amneal India, who highlighted the role of digital health platforms and Artificial Intelligence in drug discovery and patient care. Shri K K Patel, Vice President, Nirma University, presided over the event, emphasizing collaborative and multidisciplinary research as key drivers of pharmaceutical innovation. Over three days, participants engaged in expert talks, workshops and discussions on multidisciplinary research, cutting-edge pharmaceutical innovations and healthcare transformation. The valedictory event marked the conclusion of NIPiCON 2026, graced by Dr Ajay Khopade, Vice President, Formulation Development, Sun Pharma Advanced Research Centre, and Dr Narottam Sahoo, Advisor, GUJCOST.
Aarohan 2026: The BBA Conclave
The Institute of Management hosted Aarohan 2026 from January 21-22, 2026 under the theme ‘Ahmkriti: The Art of Self-Creation.’ Notable speakers included Mr Sanjay Raval (Entrepreneur, Author, Motivational Speaker, and Social Educator), Mr Purav Bhatt (Founder, Star Leaders Hub), Dr Sanjay Arora (CEO, Shells Advertising Inc), Mr Sanjeev Chopra (former IAS Officer and Author), Mr Ravi Kabra (Co-Founder & CEO, Skippi Ice Pops), Mr Sushil Bhagat (Vice President – Finance, Oracle India), Ms Palakh Khanna (Founder, Break The Ice and TEDx Speaker), and Ms Urvashi Sahni (Founder, Study Hall Educational Foundation and Educator & Women’s Rights Advocate). The event encouraged students to reflect on self-creation, leadership, and future readiness, marking a meaningful and engaging conclusion during Aarohan 2026.
RAMAN 2026
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Institute of Technology hosted a conference on ‘Recent Advancements in Materials Science and Nanotechnology’ (RAMAN) during January 30-31, 2026. The conference was inaugurated by Mr Nilesh Desai, Director, SAC-ISRO, who highlighted the decisive role of advanced materials in shaping India’s ambitious space future, including the Bhartiya Antriksh Station (BAS) and missions such as Gaganyaan, Quantum Radar, and Spaceborne Remote Sensing.
Nirma International Conference of Law
The Institute of Law hosted the Nirma International Conference of Law (NICL), from February 20-22, 2026. The Inaugural Ceremony was graced by Shri K Rajaraman (IAS), Chairperson, International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) as the Chief Guest; with Dr Philippe Cullet, Professor, SOAS University of London, as the Guest of Honour. The Valedictory Ceremony was marked by the presence of Hon’ble Mr Justice J K Maheshwari, Judge, Supreme Court of India, as the Chief Guest. The conference brought together scholars, practitioners, policymakers, industry leaders, international professors, and students to deliberate on the evolving intersection of environmental law and corporate governance.
Antitrust Moot Conference
The Institute of Law hosted the 4th Edition of the Antitrust Conference as part of the XV ILNU Antitrust Moot, Conference & Paper Presentation on February 27, 2026. The conference brought together leading practitioners, competition law experts, and students to deliberate on pressing structural and doctrinal challenges shaping contemporary antitrust enforcement. The first panel, comprising Mr Akshay Nanda (Partner, Saraf & Partners), Ms Modhulika Bose (Partner, Chandhiok & Mahajan), Mr Varun Rathod (Senior Associate, AZB & Partners), and Mr Ankush Walia (Counsel, Trilegal) deliberated on ‘Reassessing Price Parity Clauses: Interactions with Discounting Practices, Regulatory Divergence, and the Evolving Framework of Vertical Restraints.’ The second panel featured Mr Akshay Nanda, Ms Jincy Francis (FTI Consulting), and Mr Mohith Gauri (Competition Lawyer), who engaged in a discussion on ‘Duopoly Dominance: Rethinking India’s Antitrust Framework.’
ANVESH 2026: 21st Doctoral Conference in Management
The Institute of Management organised the 21st Doctoral Conference in Management, ANVESH 2026, themed ‘From Research to Reality: Ideas, Innovation & Impact’ from February 25-27, 2026. The conference received 72 abstracts and 25 full paper submissions from 120 authors. A pre-conference workshop on ‘AI Applications in Research’ by Mr Madhukar Pai, Co-Founder and CTO of Eclat Engineering Pvt Ltd, offered practical insights into leveraging AI for research. The conference was inaugurated by Prof S P Singh, Director General of Kaushalya – The Skill University. The event also featured a Research Clinic and a sector-focused workshop by Dr Niti Mehta, Professor & Director, Sardar Patel Institute of Economic and Social Research. Dr P N Tekwani, Director – DRI & Dean – FDSR, Nirma University was the Chief Guest of the Valedictory Session.
Workshop on Modern Instrumental Techniques
The Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Analysis Area of the Institute of Pharmacy, in association with the Centre for Advanced Instrumentation, organised a ‘Workshop on Modern Instrumental Techniques’ under the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), Nirma University, on February 12, 2026. Participants received hands-on training and live demonstrations on advanced analytical instruments including UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Spectrofluorometer, Particle Size Analyzer, HPLC, and HPTLC, conducted by Dr Hardik Bhatt and Dr Nrupesh Patel from the Institute of Pharmacy.
Workshop on Design Legacies
The Institute of Design hosted a workshop on ‘Design Legacies’ conducted by Mr Uday Dandavate, a design educator, researcher, and an author, on February 6-7, 2026. The workshop brought together thirty-five students from different batches of the institute to participate in interactive discussions and collaborative learning sessions.
During the workshop, Mr Dandavate shared valuable insights from his extensive international design experience, highlighting how design goes beyond creating products and plays an important role in shaping relationships between people, culture and society. Through presentations, discussions and team-based activities, students were encouraged to rethink the foundations of design and reflect on the deeper values that guide design practice.
Seminar on Advancing Arbitration, Mediation and Conciliation
The Institute of Law, in collaboration with the Legal Research Foundation, India and the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration (MCIA), organised a seminar on ‘Advancing Arbitration, Mediation and Conciliation – The Path Forward for Effective Dispute Resolution’ on February 14, 2026 at ICAI Bhavan, Rajkot, Gujarat. The seminar was graced by Hon’ble Mr Justice J C Doshi as the Chief Guest, with other esteemed dignitaries namely Hon’ble Mr Justice R T Vachchani, Hon’ble Mr Justice Tejas Karia, and Mr K P Joshipura (Chairperson of Legal Research Foundation of India).
Workshop on Entrepreneurship and Innovation
A workshop on ‘Entrepreneurship and Innovation’ was conducted by Padma Shri Prof Anil Gupta, an eminent thought leader in grassroots innovation, at the Institute of Science on March 11, 2026. Prof Gupta emphasized that innovation is not limited to advanced technology but also includes simple, practical solutions that can improve everyday life. Through real-life examples, he encouraged students to observe their surroundings, identify problems, and transform them into meaningful solutions. Select students from the Institute of Science were also offered the opportunity to work as interns under Prof Gupta for the summer, making the session both engaging and rewarding.
Workshop on Medical Writing
The Institute of Pharmacy in collaboration with the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), organised a workshop on ‘Medical Writing’ on March 17, 2026, aimed to strengthen scientific writing skills among faculty members, researchers and postgraduate students by combining expert insights with practice-oriented training. Dr Anupama Ramkumar, CEO & Principal Consultant, Arkus Research Pvt Ltd, Ahmedabad, delivered a session on ‘From CT to MAA – Writing the Story of Drug Development,’ which provided a comprehensive overview of documentation across the drug development and regulatory pathway. This was followed by a series of hands-on sessions on abstract writing, protocol development, case record form design, and literature retrieval and referencing.
International Workshop on Assembling India’s Constitution
Institute of Law organised an International Workshop on ‘Assembling India’s Constitution’ on March 21-22, 2026. The event encompassed moderated discussions and sessions by Prof Valerian Rodrigues (former Professor, JNU) and Prof Lajwanti Chatani, (Professor, The M S University of Baroda) who reflected upon the foundational framework through a political-historical lens.
Symposium on Systems Biology in Health and Disease
The Institute of Science organised a symposium on ‘Systems Biology in Health and Disease’ on March 12-13, 2026. The inaugural session featured Prof Rakesh Rawal, Head & Professor, Department of Medical Biotechnology, Gujarat Biotechnology University as the Chief Guest, who highlighted key advancements, challenges, and future directions in systems biology. The event brought together researchers, academicians, and students to explore emerging trends and translational applications in systems biology.
Panel Discussion on Digital Transformation in Commerce
The Institute of Commerce organised a panel discussion on March 12, 2026 on ‘Digital Transformation in Commerce’ bringing together academicians and industry experts to explore the impact of technology on business, finance, and accounting. The session featured distinguished speakers including Prof Anil Kumar (Shri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi), CA Gaurav Kathuria (Reliance Industries, Mumbai), and Prof Ketan Mulchandani (Somaiya Vidya Vihar University, Mumbai) along with Dr Udai Paliwal, Director, Institute of Commerce. Key topics included the role of social media, innovation, and data-driven decision-making in modern businesses. The panel also highlighted the opportunities and challenges brought by advancements like AI, blockchain technology, supply chain optimization, and fraud detection.
ILNU MUN Conference
The Institute of Law hosted ILNU MUN Chapter V, its flagship Model United Nations conference, from March 27-29, 2026. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Shri Manan Kumar Mishra, Hon’ble Chairperson of the Bar Council of India and Member of Parliament; Padma Shri Karsanbhai K Patel, President-Nirma University; and Shri K K Patel, Vice President-Nirma University, among other dignitaries. With participation from institutions across India, the conference reflected growing youth engagement in governance and international relations. It featured eight committees, including Lok Sabha, AIPPM, Gujarat Legislative Assembly, UNHRC, UNSC, UNGA-DISEC, UN Women, and the International Press, encouraging debate, negotiation, and critical thinking. Held under the theme ‘United by Dialogue’, the conference emphasised the importance of conversation as a tool for understanding, cooperation, and change, while fostering articulate and informed future leaders.
Students Conference on International Humanitarian Laws and Human Rights
The Institute of Law organised the XIV Students Conference on International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights on March 27, 2026 in virtual mode centred around the theme ‘World Peace Through Law: Reimagining IHL and the Future of AI in Armed Conflict’. The keynote address was delivered by the Chief Guest, Dr Mehraj Uddin Mir, former Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Kashmir. The address emphasized the need for adapting legal frameworks to emerging challenges in modern warfare.
Celebration of Important Days
77th Republic Day
Nirma University commemorated the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on January 26, 2026. The celebration was graced by the presence of Shri J P Gupta, IAS (Retired), Former Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Gujarat, as the Chief Guest. The event witnessed active participation from university officials, heads of institutions and departments, faculty members, staff, and students, reflecting a strong sense of unity and national pride. The celebration served as a reminder of the values enshrined in the Constitution of India and reinforced the university’s commitment to nurturing responsible and conscientious citizens.
National Youth Day
The Institute of Commerce celebrated Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary as National Youth Day, with an inspiring and spiritually uplifting programme on January 12, 2026. Shri Utkarshbhai Patel, former Faculty Development expert at Gujarat Technological University as a Chief Guest on this occasion, emphasized the importance of self-belief, disciplined character building, continuous learning and dedicated service to society.
78th Army Day
The NCC Unit of Nirma University affiliated with the NCC Ahmedabad Group, Gujarat Directorate, celebrated the 78th Army Day on January 13, 2026, aimed to create awareness among youth about the Indian Army and to honour the courage and sacrifice of its heroes and martyrs. The event was organised with the support of 9 Gujarat NCC Battalion and 1 Gujarat (Girls) NCC Battalion. Lt. Colonel Mukesh Kumar Rathod, Army Medical Corps, Indian Army, was the Chief Guest on this occasion. As part of the commemoration, NCC cadets organised a poster exhibition showcasing the latest weapon technologies, major wars fought by the Indian Army, religious diversity within the Army, and various Officers’ Entry Schemes.
International Mother Language Day
On the occasion of International Mother Language Day on February 21, 2026, the Central library of the university in collaboration with Storytellers, and the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nirma University organised ‘Voices of Home: An Open Mic for Mother Tongues.’ The event brought together students, faculty, and staff to celebrate the rich tapestry of India’s linguistic heritage through creative expression in their mother tongues. Each performance offered the audience a window into distinct cultural traditions and emotional landscapes, powerfully reflecting India’s unity in diversity. The event emphasised the critical importance of preserving and promoting mother languages at a time when many regional and indigenous languages face the risk of decline.
National Science Day
The Institute of Pharmacy celebrated National Science Day on February 27, 2026 in the presence of distinguished scientists from the Physical Research Laboratory. The highlight of the event was an expert lecture titled ‘Journey to, and on the Moon’ delivered by Mr Santosh Vadawale, Deputy Head, Astronomy & Astrophysics Division. The event was also graced by Mr Bhalamurugan Sivaraman from the Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics Division, whose participation added immense academic value to the occasion. The event featured a Science Exhibition by constituent institutes of the university showcasing innovative research projects, scientific models, and live demonstrations, fostering experiential learning and interdisciplinary collaboration.
National Pharmacy Education Day
The Institute of Pharmacy celebrated National Pharmacy Education Day on March 6, 2026. The event featured expert lectures and industry talks centred on the theme, ‘Future Pharma Ecosystem: Fostering Synergy among Academia, Industry, Research, Regulatory and Practice,’ highlighting the importance of innovation, collaboration, and interdisciplinary partnerships. It also included a ‘Youth Policy Round Table – Pharmacy Vision 2047,’ where students shared their perspectives on curriculum transformation, the integration of artificial intelligence, and innovation in pharmacy education. Additionally, a Patent & Innovation Awareness Workshop was organised to promote intellectual property awareness and encourage an innovation-driven mindset among students and faculty.
Women Development Cell Activities
Workshop on Advancing Gender Equality
The Institute of Science organised a Workshop on ‘Advancing Gender Equality’ on January 31, 2026, under the aegis of the Women Development Cell, Nirma University under the ‘SETU’ Programme, an initiative of the Gender Resource Centre (GRC), Women and Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat. The workshop was facilitated by Dr Apurvakumar Pandya, Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Public Health, Gandhinagar. The objective of the workshop was to sensitise participants to the concepts of gender equality, equity, and inclusion, and to enhance understanding of how gender norms, roles, and power relations influence individual behaviour, institutional practices, and societal outcomes.
Session on Gender Equality and Equity
The Institute of Commerce organised an insightful session on ‘Gender Equality and Equity in India’s Development Journey’ on February 3, 2026. The session was delivered by Mr Madhish Parikh, Founder and President of Elixir Foundation. The session also focused on women’s empowerment at the grassroots level, noting the impact of reservations in Panchayati Raj Institutions and the rise in female labour force participation. The session concluded with the theme ‘Give to Gain’ encouraging empowerment for stronger communities and inclusive development.
Awareness Session on Gender Equality and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act
The Institute of Design organised an awareness session on ‘Gender Equality and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act’ on February 13, 2026. The session was delivered by Dr Jharna Pathak, Director-Gujarat Institute of Development Research, and Secretary-Ahmedabad Women’s Action Group (AWAG). The event was conducted in collaboration with the SETU initiative under the Gender Resource Centre (GRC), Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Gujarat. The initiative aims to promote safe, inclusive and equitable environments in educational institutions through gender sensitisation and awareness programmes. Dr Pathak provided an overview of the POSH Act, 2013, referring to the Nirbhaya case that led to stronger legal measures against workplace harassment. She explained the complaint procedures, the role of the Internal Committee, and the importance of confidentiality in handling such cases.
Sthiram, Sukham Asanam – Decoding Ancient Wisdom for Health and Well-being in Modern Times
The Women Development Cell of the Institute of Pharmacy organised an expert talk under the GRC-SETU (Gender Resource Centre – Sustaining Equality Through Universities) programme grant on ‘Sthiram, Sukham Asanam – Decoding Ancient Wisdom for Health and Well-being in Modern Times’ by Dr Anupama Ramkumar, Principal Consultant and CEO of Arkus Research Pvt Ltd on February 18, 2026. Dr Anupama emphasised the importance of balanced nutrition, regular exercise, quality sleep, effective stress management, self-care, and conscious lifestyle choices for holistic well-being.
Panel Discussion on Fostering Gender Sensitivity at Workspaces and Academic Institutions
Nirma University, as part of the ‘SETU’ (Sustaining Equality Through Universities) programme, collaborated with the Gender Resource Centre, Women & Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat, to host a panel discussion on the theme, ‘Fostering Gender Sensitivity at Workspaces and Academic Institutions’.
The SETU Programme is a flagship academic outreach initiative of the Gender Resource Centre (GRC), designed to institutionalize gender sensitization within higher education ecosystems. Under this programme, GRC has collaborated with 25 universities across Gujarat, creating a structured platform for dialogue, training, and meaningful student-faculty engagement.
Nirma University, as a partner institution under the SETU Programme, has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting inclusive and ethical academic environments. As part of this ongoing effort, the university hosted the panel discussion on February 21, 2026 at its campus.
The distinguished panellists included Mr Rakesh Shankar (IAS, Secretary, Women and Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat), Dr Jyotsna Yagnik (Former Judge), Dr Madhuri Parikh (Director, Institute of Law, Nirma University), Ms Krishna Mehta (POSH Trainer and Expert), Mr Narendra Gohil (State Coordinator – 181 Abhayam Women Helpline), and Mr Madhish Parikh (Representative, Elixir Foundation). The event was moderated by Ms Julie Shah (Deputy Chief – Institutional Communication & Public Relations, EDII).
The panel discussion witnessed meaningful deliberations on strengthening institutional mechanisms, fostering respectful workplace cultures, and enhancing awareness among students and faculty members.
EmpowHER
The Institute of Management under the aegis of the Women Development Cell (WDC), in collaboration with the SP Seva Sansthan Foundation (SPSS Foundation), organised a workshop titled ‘EmpowHER: Capacity Building and Skill Development’ on February 25, 2026. The event focused on knowledge sharing, mentorship, and skill development, fostering confidence, self-growth, and community engagement while reinforcing the vision of collective progress and women’s empowerment.
Health Wellness Workshop
As part of International Women’s Day Celebrations, the Women Development Cell at Nirma University organised a Health Wellness Workshop on March 2, 2026 hosted by the Institute of Law. Dr Madhuri Parikh, Chairperson, Women Development Cell, Nirma University and Dean – Institute of Law, spoke about the relevance of the theme ‘Give to Gain’ in alignment with the theme of International Women’s Day 2026. The session was conducted by Dr Punit Chaturvedi, Senior Assistant Professor of National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur who oriented participants about work-life balance through stress alleviating activities one can engage into and careful planning of one’s routine.
Self-Defense Workshop
As part of the International Women’s Day Celebrations, the Institute of Pharmacy under the aegis of the Women Development Cell, Nirma University organised a Self-Defense Workshop for girl students of BPharm Semester I, MPharm Semester II, and newly admitted PhD scholars, on March 3, 2026. The workshop was facilitated by Mr Rushiraj Jaiswal and his team from the Rushiraj Karate Kungfu Federation, Ahmedabad. The session was designed to equip participants with essential self-defense skills and focused on key aspects such as situational awareness, building assertiveness, practical self-defense techniques and effective response strategies in potentially threatening situations. Through engaging demonstrations and hands-on training, participants actively learned and practiced various techniques aimed at enhancing personal safety.
Walk For Her Initiative
As part of International Women’s Day Celebrations, the Women Development Cell at Nirma University organised a ‘Walk For Her’ campaign in collaboration with Ashirvad Foundation on March 7, 2026, hosted by the Institute of Law. As part of this initiative, the number of steps undertaken on the particular day, were donated to spread awareness about breast cancer and free health check-up for the weaker section of the society.
Cycling Drive
The NSS Unit of the Institute of Pharmacy organised a Cycling Drive on March 9, 2026, to mark International Women’s Day. The initiative aimed to promote women’s health awareness and physical fitness. Female NSS volunteers participated in a one-hour cycling drive in their localities, engaging with community members to spread awareness about the importance of women’s empowerment and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Awareness Session on Menstrual Hygiene
To mark the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Women Development Cell at the Institute of Science organised an awareness session on ‘Give to Gain: Promoting Menstrual Hygiene and Awareness’ on March 27, 2026. The session was led by Ms Vidhi Solanki and team from U&I NGO, Ahmedabad, who delivered an insightful and engaging discussion on menstrual health, hygiene practices, and the importance of breaking societal taboos surrounding the topic.

IPR Boot Camp: Protecting Ideas, Empowering Innovators
The Incubation Centre, Nirma University organised an IPR Boot Camp on ‘Protecting Ideas – Empowering Innovators’ on January 10-11, 2026 at Nirma University. The boot camp witnessed participation from students and early-stage innovators from diverse academic backgrounds. The objective of the boot camp was to create awareness about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and to equip participants with practical knowledge on protecting, leveraging, and commercializing intellectual assets in an innovation-driven ecosystem. Resource persons included Mr Amitkumar Patel (Managing Partner at PATectual IP Law Services LLP and a Registered Indian Patent Agent and Advocate), Ms Darshi Mankad (Managing Associate at Y J Trivedi & Company), and Ms Shikha Makwana (Advocate at Y J Trivedi & Company).
E-Summit 2026
The E-Cell, Nirma University organised E-Summit 2026 on March 6-8, 2026 featuring a series of engaging activities including Talk Show, Marketing Marathon, and IPL Auction. Each event was designed to simulate real-world business challenges and encourage practical application of entrepreneurship concepts. The summit included speakers from diverse backgrounds with panel consisting Mr Jatin Kumar Chaudhary, Co-Founder of eChai Ventures; Ms Alka Thakkar and Mr Bobby Thakkar, founders of Martino’s Pizza; Mr Vineet Pareekh, Managing Director of Pima Controls Pvt Ltd; and Ms Shikha Shah, Founder and CEO of AltMat.
Short Term Training Programmes
Fundamentals of Intellectual Property Rights Law
The Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, Institute of Law with support from the Centre for Continuing Education, Nirma University conducted a 1-Week Online Certificate Course on ‘Fundamentals of Intellectual Property Rights Law’ from December 29, 2025 to January 7, 2026. The programme aimed at providing a strong conceptual and practical foundation in IPR, integrating core legal principles with ongoing developments in the global IP landscape.
The Institute of Management organised a Management Development Programme (MDP) on ‘Communication & Team Building Skills’ on March 6, 2026 for employees of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC). The programme focused on enhancing interpersonal communication, active listening, and clarity in expression, while fostering teamwork and trust among participants. NASA NEXUS – IAPNU 2026
The Institute of Architecture and Planning, hosted ‘NASA NEXUS – IAPNU 2026’ on January 31, 2026 as part of the NASA India initiative under the National Association of Students of Architecture. Centred on the theme ‘Connect, Collaborate, Create’ the programme fostered networking, interdisciplinary engagement, and community building among architecture students. It brought together around 80 participants from other institutions, promoting inter-university interaction and collective learning.
Renaissance 2026
The Institute of Science conducted its cultural festival ‘Renaissance’ on January 1-2, 2026. Ms Shruti Modi, a renowned singer was the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony. Renaissance featured a wide range of events including singing, dance, collage making, face painting, Sci-toon, poetry, debate, and quiz, among others.
Rostrum 2026
Rostrum, the Cultural Fest of the Institute of Pharmacy was celebrated with great zeal on January 3-4, 2026. The event featured an array of performances, including theatre, music, dance, group acts and Mr & Ms Rostrum Personality Contest. Mr Parikshit Tamaliya, a celebrated actor in the Gujarati film industry was among the invited guests on this occasion.
SPIC MACAY: Hindustani Classical Vocal Music Concert
The Institute of Management hosted SPIC MACAY on January 27, 2026, featuring performance on Hindustani Classical Vocal Music by Dr Janki Mithaiwala, accompanied by Dr Nandkishore Date on Tabla, and Shri Akul Panchal on Harmonium. Shri K K Patel, Vice President, Nirma University felicitated the artists.
International Teaching Month 2026
The Institute of Law organised the ‘International Teaching Month’ from January 8 to February 27, 2026. As part of this initiative, a mix of online and offline sessions were conducted on Air and Space Law, International Business Transactions and German Labour Law, Hate Speech, Media Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Human Rights, AI & Law, Environmental Law, and IPR by resource persons including, Dr Ricky Lee (Senior Lecturer at University of Canterbury), Dr Andras Hars (Senior Lecturer at Ludovika University of Public Service), Dr Ylli Dautaj (Associate Professor at Durham University), Dr Adam Dubin (Professor at Faculty of Law, Comillas Universidad Pontifica), Dr Venkat Iyer (Senior Lecturer at School of Law, Ulster University), Dr Phillipe Cullet (Professor at SOAS, London), Dr Dietmar Boerner (Professor at HoF University, Germany), Dr Pranav Menon (Director and Legal Services and Data Privacy Specialist at Law & Compliance, Green Point Global), and Dr Elmarie Fourie (HoD of Public Law at University of Johannesburg). Further, as part of the International Teaching month, the UG and LLM students visited the Gujarat Legislative Assembly on February 18, 2026, to witness the live Budget Session.
ILNU-NHRC Moot Court Competition
The Institute of Law in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), organised the NHRC Moot Court Competition from February 6-8, 2026, focusing on legal issues related to climate change and human rights. The event began with an inaugural address by Justice (Retired) Kaushal J Thakkar, Chairperson of the Gujarat State Human Rights Commission, and Shri Bharat Lal, Secretary and CEO of National Human Rights Commission. The competition saw 20 teams qualifying for the final round from a pool of 51 registered teams.
NirmaQuest 2026
The Institute of Pharmacy hosted NirmaQuest 2026, an intercollegiate quiz competition on February 24, 2026, bringing together some of the bright minds from various academic disciplines across Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Shri Bharatbhai Patel, President, Gujarat State Pharmacy Council, and Shri Kashyapbhai A Patel, Vice President, Gujarat State Pharmacy Council, graced the event as the esteemed Chief Guests. With the participation of 41 teams (82 participants), the competition unfolded through rigorous preliminary rounds, intellectually stimulating semi-finals, and an electrifying grand finale. The top three teams were felicitated with certificates and cash prizes from a total prize pool of Rs 44,000.
Dwand 2026 – Inter-Institute Debate
The Institute of Management hosted ‘Dwand 2026’ on February 13, 2026 on the theme ‘Corporate Conference’ bringing together 22 participants from constituent institutes of Nirma University. The competition featured debate rounds conducted in English and Hindi, where participants demonstrated structured arguments, persuasive communication, and critical thinking while debating contemporary and socially relevant themes. Het Chavda from the Institute of Law was awarded the ‘Champion Debater’, and Anany Chaudhry from the Institute of Management received the ‘Eloquent Debater’ Award.
NUZEAL- University Cultural Festival
NUZEAL 2026, the flagship Cultural Festival of Nirma University, was organised by the School of Engineering, Institute of Technology from February 19-21, 2026, under the aegis of the Students Welfare Board. Inaugurated by Shri K K Patel, Vice President, Nirma University, NUZEAL 2026 showcased vibrant cultural talent through twenty-seven events spanning the categories of Music, Dance, Literary Arts, Fine Arts, Theatre, and Cultural Walk. The opening ceremony featured a mesmerizing performance by Numaish – The Music Band of Nirma University, followed by an energetic dance performance by the Institute of Technology students.
Accathon 3.0
The Institute of Commerce in association with the Indian Accounting Association (IAA) and Knowledge Partner – Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) organised round I of Accathon 3.0, an Interdisciplinary Accounting Hackathon on February 7, 2026. The event brought together 256 participants from ten states across the country, creating a dynamic platform for innovation, analytical thinking, and interdisciplinary learning in the field of accounting and finance. The final round of the competition was held on March 6-7, 2026 where teams presented their ideas and solutions, evaluated by an experienced panel of judges. In the undergraduate category, Team Finbytes from Nirma University secured the first position, while Team DC from Christ University, Bangalore, was the runner-up. In the postgraduate category, Team Hustlers from JIET Group of Institutions, Jodhpur and Government Bangur PG College, Pali emerged as the winners, followed by Team Golden Quad from Sanjivani University, Kopargaon as the runner-up.
Blind Date with Books
The Central library of the university organised a ‘Blind Date with a Book’ activity on February 13, 2026. As part of this engaging initiative, 150 selected books were wrapped to conceal their titles and covers, creating an element of mystery and excitement for readers. Each wrapped book also included a surprise gift in the form of a pen, chocolate, bookmarks etc. Participants were invited to select and issue a wrapped book without knowing its identity. Upon issuing the book, they received the surprise gift along with it. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff members, with a total of 150 participants. The activity proved to be a lively and successful initiative, promoting reading in a fun, creative, and interactive manner.
Kalp ’26
The Institute of Architecture and Planning organised KALP 2026, the annual Techno-Cultural Fest, from February 23-26, 2026. The festival was inaugurated by Dr Narottam Sahoo, Advisor and Member Secretary, GUJCOST, and Dr Christian Schmidle, Dean at THWS, Germany. The festival featured student work exhibition, panel discussion, seminar series, hands-on workshops, an open-mic poetry event ‘Kavitra’, Drum Circle, Drama performance by faculty, staff and students, and a Cultural Night, among others.
Genesis 2026 – Cultural Festival
Genesis 2026, the flagship cultural festival of the Department of Undergraduate Studies, Institute of Management was held on February 13-14, 2026, under the theme ‘An Ethereal Cosmos.’ The inaugural ceremony began with a stand-up comedy performance by Shubham Upadhyay, a professional stand-up comedian, followed by vibrant music and dance performances. Across the two days, 17 events were organised by various BBA clubs and committees. Big Gig on Day 1 featured performances by Rajat Sood and Pranav Sharma, both stand-up comedians while Pronite on Day 2 concluded the festival with a musical performance by Anuj Rehan, a singer, composer, and live performer.
Photography Exhibition
The photography exhibition, organised by the Nukta Photography Club, Nirma University, under the aegis of the Students Welfare Board on March 13-14, 2026, was one of the largest photography exhibitions ever hosted at the university. Featuring over 200 photographs by more than 60 students, it celebrated the talent and artistic vision of the campus community.
The Ad-Mad Challenge
The Drama Club of Nirma University under the aegis of the Student Welfare Board organised a theatre competition ‘The Ad-Mad Challenge’ on March 17, 2026. The event conducted in two rounds witnessed participation from 27 students. The first round, Theatre Bingo, focused on spontaneous acting that tested creativity, confidence, and quick thinking. The second round, Ad-Mad Challenge, required participants to present advertisements based on random ideas, resulting in creative and engaging performances.
HACKaMINeD 2026
The Centre of Excellence in Data Science and the Student Chapter – Computer Society of India, Computer Science and Engineering Department, School of Technology, Nirma University, in collaboration with SUNY Binghamton University, USA, organised ‘HACKaMINeD’, a national-level hybrid hackathon from March 5-7, 2026. The problem statements were designed in collaboration with SUNY Binghamton University, USA, industry leaders, and domain experts, ensuring strong academic and industry relevance. The event received an overwhelming response with 1700+ participants and 225+ teams from different parts of India.
Perspective Richter 10
The Institute of Management organised Perspective Richter 10, its annual management fest, from March 13-15, 2026. The fest featured flagship competitions across marketing, IT and analytics, finance, sustainability, human resources, strategy, entrepreneurship, and public policy, providing participants with opportunities to demonstrate analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Interactive events, including quizzes, simulations, creative challenges, and strategic tasks, further encouraged collaboration and innovation.
The cultural segment showcased musical and dance performances alongside events celebrating creativity and digital expression. The fest also featured engaging sessions by Ms Vanshika Parmar, Miss India Earth 2022, public speaker and storyteller; Mr Aakash Mehta, an Indian stand-up comedian and content creator; Ms Sima Taparia, entrepreneur and television personality; Mr Ashish Bharatvanshi, storyteller and history communicator; Mr Ajitanshu, a DJ and electronic music performer; and Mr Rishi, a professional DJ.
The celebrations concluded with ‘Somnium’ on March 15, 2026, featuring a live performance by Indian playback singer and music composer Mr Ankit Tiwari.
MESA Day
The Mechanical Engineering Students Association (MESA) celebrated MESA Day on March 24, 2026, aimed to recognise student achievements, showcase talent, and encourage a spirit of innovation and collaboration. An engaging talk show featuring industry experts Mr Viral Patel, Director of Innovative Technologies, and Mr Dhrumil Nagori, Owner of Plymart was organised on this occasion. Both speakers shared valuable insights from their professional journeys, motivating students to pursue innovation, entrepreneurship, and continuous learning.
ARMS India 2026
The ISA Students’ Chapter, Gujarat Section, Nirma University organised ARMS India 2026 (Automation, Robotics, and Mechatronics Summit) on March 25, 2026. Mr Manan Patel, a certified project management professional was the Chief Guest on this occasion. ARMS India 2026 featured technical attractions, including Robo Wars and a Tech Fair, aimed at fostering innovation, practical learning, and strengthening industry-academia collaboration.
Aarambh 2026
The Chemical Engineering Students Association (ChESA), organised Aarambh 2026, the annual non-technical fest from March 13-15, 2026. A special highlight of the inauguration was an engaging Founders’ talkshow, hosting three remarkable entrepreneurs – Mr Darshan Dashani (Founder of Tea Post), Mr Amit Panchal (CEO and Co-Founder of AllEvents), and Ms Geeta Solanki (Founder at UniPads India Pvt Ltd). Their insights, experiences, and journey offered valuable lessons on entrepreneurship, resilience, and innovation.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training
The Institute of Management organised a CPR Training session on March 9-10, 2026, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, equipping 308 students with essential emergency response skills through hands-on learning. The training covered chest compressions, rescue breathing, and basic life support techniques, helping students understand how timely action can save lives. The session aimed to build awareness and confidence, ensuring that participants are better prepared to respond effectively in critical situations.
Street Smart 2026
The Institute of Management hosted Street Smart 2026 on March 17-18, 2026 bringing together nearly 3000 participants from various constituent institutes of Nirma University, for a two-day experiential event focused on entrepreneurship and real-world business learning. The event featured 17 student-run stalls conceptualised and managed by MBA students, enabling participants to engage in live selling, customer interaction, and business execution. It also included pitch presentations evaluated by Dr Punit Saurabh, Institute of Management and a guest session by Mr Vijay Bhuptani, Head – Training & Education at International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development, Ahmedabad, offering practical insights into entrepreneurship.

Nirma Cup 2026
The Nirma Cup 2026, an Inter-University Sports Tournament, was held from March 8-11, 2026 at the Nirma University campus. The tournament was organised by the Institute of Architecture and Planning under the aegis of the Students Welfare Board, Nirma University.
The four-day sporting event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 18 universities, with more than 400 players competing across multiple disciplines. The tournament showcased exceptional sporting talent, teamwork, and competitive spirit.
Nirma University emerged as the champion in Basketball (Men). Ahmedabad University secured the titles in Football (Men) and Volleyball (Women), while L J University won the Cricket (Men) championship. Sankalchand Patel University clinched the title in Volleyball (Men).
Field Visits
Visit to Udaipur Cement Works Limited
A site visit was organised for Civil Engineering Semester IV students to the Udaipur Cement Works Limited (UCWL) facility on February 7, 2026. The visit offered students an opportunity to observe operational processes first-hand and gain practical insights that complement their academic learning.
Visit to Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics
An industrial visit was organised for BTech Electrical Engineering Semester VI students to Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics, Gandhinagar on February 9-10, 2026 with the objective of providing practical exposure to space applications, satellite communication, and geo-informatics.
Visit to PSP Projects Precast Yard
The Department of Civil Engineering organised a site visit to the PSP Projects Precast Yard, Sanand for BTech Civil Engineering students (Semester VI) on February 13, 2026. During the visit, students were given comprehensive exposure to the complete precast construction process. They observed the casting of precast elements, reinforcement detailing, shuttering systems, concrete pouring techniques, curing methods, demolding procedures, and quality control practices.
Visit to Bosch and Gujarat Dyestuff Industries Pvt Ltd
An industrial visit to Bosch Home Comfort India Ltd and Gujarat Dyestuff Industries Pvt Ltd was conducted for MBA Term III students of the Institute of Management from February 18-20, 2026 providing valuable exposure to real-world industrial operations and management practices. The visit enabled students to observe manufacturing processes, quality control systems, supply chain coordination, and operational efficiency mechanisms in practice. Interactions with industry professionals helped participants understand the integration of technology, process discipline, and managerial decision-making in driving organisational performance.
Visit to Sabarmati Central Jail
The Legal Aid Clinic at the Institute of Law organised an educational visit to Sabarmati Central Jail on February 21, 2026. The visit was attended by 20 students accompanied by faculty members. Students visited the Legal Aid Clinic for convicted prisoners, where the Jail Law Officer explained them about the prison administration, inmate conditions, facilities, and implementation of prisoners’ rights. They then visited the undertrial prisoners’ clinic, where, after security clearance, students interacted directly with the inmates and gained first-hand insights into prison life and legal challenges faced by undertrials.
Visit to Nirma Limited, Alindra
Students from the Chemical Engineering Department, Institute of Technology, visited Nirma Limited, Alindra on March 23-24, 2026. During the visit, students observed various industrial equipment and operations, including Pumps and compressors, Heat exchanges, Distillation columns, Reactors and absorbers, Pipelines and control valves etc. An overview of the Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) production process, front end and back-end plants were also explained to the students.
Visit to Corona Remedies Pvt Ltd
The MSc Semester IV students from the Microbiology and Biochemistry programmes at the Institute of Science visited Corona Remedies Pvt Ltd., Bhayla, Ahmedabad on March 7, 2026. Students were introduced to key departments such as QA, QC, R&D, and ADL, along with quality testing protocols and GMP compliance. A guided tour of the manufacturing unit provided hands-on exposure to processes like granulation, tablet compression, capsule filling, sterilization, and packaging. The session concluded with an overview of warehousing and distribution practices.
Visit to Gujarat Vidhan Sabha
The Institute of Management organised a visit to Gujarat Vidhan Sabha on March 13, 16, and 17, 2026, with participation from 360 students, offering them a real-time understanding of legislative proceedings. Students observed live sessions from the audience gallery, gaining insights into structured discussions and decision-making processes. The visit enhanced students awareness of governance and public policy through practical exposure.
Visit to Wanakbori Thermal Power Station
A visit to Wanakbori Thermal Power Station, Kheda was organised for the students of BTech Mechanical Engineering on March 13 and 17, 2026; and BTech Electrical Engineering on March 24, 2026. Students gained insights on the working of a coal-based thermal power plant and its importance for the future growth of India. During the visit, plant experts provided detailed insights into the operation of thermal power plants, including boilers, turbines, generators, and control systems. Students also learned about safety practices and energy management in large-scale power generation.
Visit to R R Kabel Ltd, Waghodia
An industrial visit to R R Kabel Ltd, Waghodia, Vadodara, was organised on March 12, 2026 for the students of BTech Electrical Engineering. The visit provided valuable exposure to real-world manufacturing practices and industrial processes, enriching the students understanding of the electrical engineering domain.

Mr Mahendra Srivastava, Advisor (Strategic Business), RailTel Corporation of India Limited conducted a session on ‘Progression from digitization to digitalization and digital transformation’, with practical insights drawn from initiatives such as ONDC, UPI, and Digi Yatra, at the Institute of Management on January 5, 2026. Mr Srivastava emphasized the role of regulators and policy frameworks in shaping inclusive and future-ready digital ecosystems in India, highlighting the importance of governance in driving sustainable digital growth.

Dr Kasthuri Venkateswaran, NASA – Jet Propulsion Lab, California Institute of Technology, USA (Retired) conducted a session on ‘Extremophiles in Space: New frontiers for drug discovery and biotechnology’ at the Institute of Pharmacy on March 23, 2026. The session focused on space microbiology, covering microbial contamination control in space missions, techniques for profiling space-associated microbes and their impact on mission success.
Dr Moonmoon Jetley, independent researcher,conducted a session on ‘Putting People First: The Relevance and Application of Ethnographic Research Today’ at the Institute of Design on March 23, 2026. This session captivated attendees with its exploration of how ethnographic research, rooted in understanding human experiences, remains crucial in today’s rapidly evolving landscape.
Mr Berjis Desai, author & an eminent legal expert, interacted with the Nirma community on March 24, 2026, over his book ‘Modi’s Mission’, highlighting the leadership journey, governance philosophy, and developmental vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi.
