- Dr Upendra Baxi, Emeritus Professor of Law, University of Warwick and Delhi, delivered a distinguished lecture on ?Constitutional Morality: New Wine in Old Bottle?? at the Institute of Law on Dec 20, 2019.
- Dr Rajkumar Buyya, Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor and Director of the Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) Laboratory, University of Melbourne, Australia, gave a public lecture on ?New frontier in Cloud and Edge/Fog Computing for Big Data and Internet-of-things Applications? at the Computer Engineering Department, Institute of Technology, Nirma University on Dec 20, 2019.
- Dr Sushant Kachhap from Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine, USA gave a talk on “Molecular targets for prostate cancer” at Institute of Science during his two day visit on Dec 19-20, 2019. He also had an interactive session with PhD and MSc students regarding their ongoing projects. Interaction with faculty members from Institute of Science and Institute of Pharmacy was also arranged to exchange details of research carried out at the two institutes. Dr Sushant provided valuable inputs on syllabus of Cancer Biology course. He encouraged students to visit Johns Hopkins for research work and offered to guide them.
- Dr Ramesh K Agarwal, the William Palm Professor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science at Washington University in St Louis, USA visited the Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering, Nirma University on Dec 20, 2019. He interacted with the faculty members of the department and conducted a session on ?Computational Fluid Dynamics Applications and Progress?.
- Prof Ikou Towhata, Professor Emeritus, Civil Engineering, University of Tokyo; Chair of Professional Image Committee, International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering and Director, Tohata Architects & Engineers delivered an expert talk on ?Summarising Geotechnical Activities after the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake of Japan? on Dec 23, 2019, as a part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Institute of Technology. Prof Towhata also interacted with the Additional Director, Institute of Technology and faculty members of the Civil Engineering department.
Dr Feng C Lai, Anadarko Presidential Professor, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, University of Oklahoma, USA visited School of Engineering, Nirma University on Dec 27, 2019 and interacted with the faculty members of Department of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering and shared his expertise.
- Honourable Justice B N Srikrishna, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India delivered distinguished lectures on ?Mob Lynching, and Data Privacy? during Nov 5-6, 2019, at Institute of Law, Nirma University.
- Dr SangWon Yoon, Associate Professor, SUNY Binghamton visited the Department of Computer Science and Engineering for taking lectures and discussion on Centre of Excellence, Data Science from Nov 11-15, 2019.
