Inauguration of Digi-SUSTEACH Centre

The Institute of Management inaugurated the Digi-SUSTEACH Centre as part of the KODECET (Knowledge Development for Circular Economy Transition) project, funded by the European Union. The project brings together six institutions from Finland, Austria, India, and Thailand to build academic capacity in Sustainable and Circular Economy (SACE) education. The Centre was formally inaugurated by Dr Anup K Singh, Director General, and Shri G R Nair, Executive Registrar, Nirma University.

 

Inauguration of Cybersecurity Laboratory  

The Computer Science and Engineering Department, School of Technology inaugurated the Cybersecurity Laboratory on November 18, 2025, in the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Dr Neville G Pinto (President, University of Cincinnati), Padma Shri Dr Karshanbhai K Patel (President, Nirma University), Shri K K Patel (Vice President, Nirma University), Dr Anup K Singh (Director General, Nirma University) along with other officials from the University of Cincinnati and Nirma University. The Cybersecurity Laboratory is equipped with cutting-edge tools and technologies and is envisioned as a hub for hands-on training, innovation, and real-world cybersecurity capacity-building across domains such as Information and Network Security, Digital Forensics, Threat Intelligence, Secure Software Development, Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing, and IT Auditing. It is designed to enable interdisciplinary cybersecurity research, equip students and industry professionals with essential skill sets, and foster a research-centric ecosystem aligned with industry standards.

Nirma University Contributes to the World’s Largest Space Analog Mission

Nirma University participated in the World’s Largest Space Analog Mission held during October 13-26, 2025, a global initiative uniting 17 habitats across five continents and involving over 200 scientists from 25 countries to simulate Moon and Mars settlements. The Indian Analog Mission, organised by the AAKA Space Studio, was hosted at Laiari, Kutch, Gujarat, selected for its Mars-like terrain. Representing Nirma University, Dr Priti Mehta (Recognised Space Tutor), Dr Nasreen Munshi, Dr Anshu Srivastava and Dr Shital Panchal, along with student coordinators Dhaval Solanki, Vidhi Pandit, and Samyak Patel, contributed cutting-edge research in the areas of microbial monitoring, on-site drug development and human physiological evaluation, including vital signs, sleep, and performance monitoring.

The team’s pioneering efforts in space pharmacy aim to enhance medical self-sufficiency for future astronauts on the Moon and Mars, supporting India’s vision for human space missions such as the Bharatiya Antariksh Station.
