Extension Activities

NSS Camp at Ratanpur


A seven-day NSS special camp was organised by NSS Unit of Nirma University at Ratanpur during Jan 4-10, 2020. Institute of Pharmacy was the host institute for the camp. A total of 29 students from Institute of Pharmacy and Institute of Commerce, along with faculty coordinators participated in the camp. Some of the activities conducted during the camp included, free Eye Checkup for the residents, Awareness campaign on ?No Plastic Use?, Teaching the village students, Co-curricular activities (Elocution, Dance, Drama, Singing, Essay Writing and Drawing Competition), Village Survey based on Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Traffic Awareness Campaign, and Sports activities (Kho-Kho, Lemon & Spoon Race, Sack Race, 50m Relay, Kabaddi and Tug of War).

Visit to Vautha village, Ahmedabad


A group of 82 NSS student volunteers of first year of Institute of Architecture and Planning visited Vautha village in Dholka Taluka of Ahmedabad district on Feb 1, 2020. The trip started with a brief introduction to the village by the Sarpanch Mr Hitendra singh Vaghela, and the principal of the primary school Ms Bhartiben. They welcomed the students to the village and introduced them to its rich history. They briefed about the various Faliyas of the village, major occupations, major landmarks, and all other important aspects of the village. After this brief introduction students distributed themselves into groups and made a preliminary survey of the various faliyas of the village to develop an overall understanding of the village and its people. They also visited the Mela ground and ended the trip at the Bhathuji temple located near the banks of the river.

Blood Stem Cell Donation Drive
ISA Student?s Chapter Nirma University organised a Blood Stem Cell Donation Drive with DATRI, a not for profit organisation which collects and maintains the data of the volunteers who want to donate the blood stem cells on Feb 29, 2020 at Nirma University, Ahmedabad.
