Achievements at International Level

Rakshikha Ravi, a first-year BTech Electronics and Communication Engineering student from the Institute of Technology won the gold medal in the Open Mixed Doubles 5.0 category at the Pickleball World Cup, held at Villa Deportiva Nacional in Lima, Peru, from Oct 22-27, 2024.

Achievements at National Level

Underwater Robotics Competition

Team Nirma AUV, comprising 17 engineering students of the Institute of Technology, won the national championship at the AMU ROVC’24, held from Nov 9-10, 2024 at Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh. In the final round, Team Nirma AUV’s Remotely Operated Vehicle, Agastya 4.1, stood out by performing each task with remarkable precision. In addition to defending its title, the team earned a cash prize of Rs 25000, marking a significant achievement in the field of underwater robotics.
The AMU ROVC’24 competition, a prestigious event organised by the Marine Technology Society’s Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Club (MTS-AUV) in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE AMU), is designed to foster a community of young innovators in the domain of remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs). The competition challenges students across three phases: a Comprehensive Design Report, a Proof of Concept video, and a final in-person contest, where only the top seven teams reached the final stage.

Robofest-Gujarat 4.0
The Proof of Concept on designing a ‘Application Based Robot’ submitted by the students’ team from the Institute of Design, comprising Avani Thotam, Jayesh Vishwakarma, and Arnav Bagade has been selected for Level III (Prototype stage) in India’s biggest Robotics Competition, Robofest-Gujarat 4.0. As a token of recognition for their creative presentation and demonstration, the team received a cash prize of Rs 2,00,000

Aerothon 2024
Team Arrow from the Institute of Technology emerged as the National Champion at Aerothon 2024, held at GITAM University, Bengaluru organised by SAEINDIA during Nov 14-16, 2024. The team won the Best Business Plan Proposal award, and a cash prize of Rs 1.75 lakhs. This national-level competition was conducted in two rigorous phases, where Team Arrow competed against some of India’s most esteemed universities. The team achieved the highest overall score by completing all four mission challenges in Phase-2.

National Level Dance Competition
Mahima Dave from the Institute of Pharmacy secured the first position in the National level dance competition, ‘Saamved Kala Mahotsav’ for Classical Dance (Kathak), held at Baroda, Gujarat on Oct 20, 2024. Nearly 200 dancers performed different dance styles, including classical, folk, and western.

Young Designers League (YDL)

Three student teams from the Institute of Design, earned recognition at the Young Designers League (YDL), a national-level design competition hosted by MITID Indore and Avantika University, Ujjain on Dec 13, 2024. Students’ innovative ideas and exemplary execution garnered widespread acclaim from the esteemed jury.

The project ‘Ditto’, developed by Pranathi Sridara, Hunny Modi, Eva Gajjar, and Prathama Shah, received first position for its innovative approach to early childhood development. ‘Ditto’ is an IoT-based interactive game aimed at enhancing motor skills in children aged 3 to 5 years. Project ‘Cerebray’ conceptualised by Jayesh Vishwakarma, Yashvi Shah, and Yash Tiwari secured the first runner-up position in the Industrial Design Category. ‘Cerebray’ is a non-invasive, drug-free device designed to offer effective migraine relief through targeted vibration therapy. Project ‘KaaryaKonnect’ developed by Navya Jain, Misha Thakkar, Dhruvi Madhvani, and Aayushi Patel secured the second runner-up in the UI-UX category. ‘KaaryaKonnect’ is an app designed to empower blue-collar workers by connecting them with better job opportunities, skill development resources, and fair wages.

CII (Confederation of Indian Industries) Young Designer Award 2024

Ronak Sutariya, Ayushman Singh Jodha, Prerak Mandavia, and Sumukh Kulkarni from the Institute of Design received the CII Young Designer Award in the ‘Design for Social Impact’ category for their project ‘Brailliant’ – a playful learning aid for visually impaired children. The award was presented at the 4th CII Young Designer Awards ceremony, in Bengaluru on Dec 18-19, 2024.

12th UFYLC Ranka National Moot Court Competition

The Institute of Law students team comprising Katyayini Rana, Shreeja Mitra, and Rishit Paliwal won the 12th UFYLC Ranka National Moot Court Competition, organised by the University of Rajasthan on Oct 5-7, 2024.

IIT Bombay Parliamentary Debate Competition
Srinivas Iyer and Shaunak Saha from the Institute of Law won the Novice Championship at the 17th IIT Bombay Parliamentary Debate 2024, organised from Oct 18-20, 2024. They were the top-breaking novice team, and Shaunak Saha was awarded Best Speaker for the novice finals.

Inter-College Sports Fest
The Institute of Law’s Boys’ Basketball team, under the leadership of Captain Kuldeep Lohar, clinched the championship title, with Kuldeep also earning recognition as the tournament’s highest scorer. The Girls’ Basketball team, led by Captain Ziya Mansuri, secured a 3rd place at the 14th Inter-College Sports Fest ‘Virudhaka,’ held at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, from Oct 10-13, 2024.

Social Entrepreneurship Pitching Competition

Hrishikesh Bukate was declared the 1st runner-up at the GNLU Social Entrepreneurship Pitching Competition held on Sep 6, 2024. His innovative solution addressed crimes against women through a comprehensive approach that combines therapy, judicial assistance, self-defense training, and a 24-hour helpline. Supported by the Centre for Entrepreneurship and E-Cell, his initiative aims to make a significant impact on enhancing women’s safety and well-being.
