Inauguration of Nima Knowledge Centre, the Central Library
The university has come up with its newly enhanced Central Library, the ‘Nima Knowledge Centre’ on Dec 13, 2024. Shri Rakeshbhai K Patel, Vice Chairman, Nirma Limited; Shri K K Patel, Vice President, Nirma University; and other members, including senior officials and directors, attended the inauguration ceremony.
The Nima Knowledge Centre spans six floors, providing seating for up to 1000 individuals. The library is strategically designed with both Reading Zones and Silence Zones to cater to the varied needs of users. It includes diverse spaces such as discussion rooms, cubicles, training rooms, reading areas, ensuring an ideal environment for individual study and group collaboration.
The library’s modernisation also includes cutting-edge automation with the KOHA (Knowledge Organisation and Helpful Automation) system, enhancing the management and organisation of resources. RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology has been implemented to streamline the tracking of library materials, ensuring security and efficiency. Additionally, users can benefit from self-service kiosks, which allow for easy book checkouts and returns.

The Institute of Pharmacy signed a tri-party MoU with Dhruva Space Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad, India, and ResearchSAT, Adelaide, South Australia on Dec 20, 2024. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in fostering research and development initiatives.
MoU with Project Management Institute, Gujarat Chapter to Foster Project Management Education
Nirma University signed an MoU with the Project Management Institute, Gujarat Chapter (PMIGJC), a prominent organisation associated with PMI, USA, to advance project management education and practices on Dec 22, 2024. The partnership aims to equip students with industry-relevant skills and practical knowledge in project management. As a part of the collaboration, a Project Management Student Club (PMSC) will be established at the university. The club will serve as a platform for students to gain hands-on experience in project management, bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. PMIGJC, which boasts a network of over 850 certified project management professionals, will organise workshops, training sessions, and events tailored to enhance students’ project management competencies.

As per the Gujarat State Institutional Rating Framework (GSIRF) awarded by the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat, Department of Education, Government of Gujarat, released in December 2024, Nirma University received a 5-Star Plus rating.
