Seven Day Special NSS Camp

A Seven Day Special NSS Camp was organised from March 6-12, 2022 at village-Bidada, Bhuj by the Institute of Design. A total of 26 NSS students participated in the camp. The NSS team started the work by conducting a field visit. The main objective of this field visit was to understand the geographical location of the village and the problems faced by the villagers. After understanding the problems of the villagers, the NSS team started working on various educational and awareness possibilities such as creating awareness of the importance of water harvesting systems and maintaining water quality, smart farming techniques, water distribution management, and the importance of organic farming. With the help of the village school, the NSS team conducted various activities for the primary, middle, and secondary school students related to awareness, technical education, and cultural programmes.

Blood Donation Camp

The Organisation of Civil Engineering Students, in collaboration with NSS-SoE, NSS-ILNU, Students Welfare Board, and Prathama Blood Donation Centre organised a Blood Donation Camp on April 29, 2022 at the Nirma University Campus. Nirma University students, faculty, and staff enthusiastically participated in this worthy cause. A total of 338 units of blood was collected.

Other Activities

  • International Society of Automation Students’ Chapter, Nirma University organised a charity drive and visit at Karmyog foundation, Chandkheda, Ahmedabad on March 25, 2022. The students visited the old age home and engaged with the elderly residents. They spent time with them, served them food, and donated to the foundation.
  • The MSc students of Semester 2, Institute of Science visited the Blind People Association (BPA), Vastrapur, Ahmedabad on March 23 and March 25, 2022 and donated items collected from the staff, faculty members, and students of the institute.
  • Children from Manav Sadhana, an NGO based in Ahmedabad were invited to the Institute of Architecture and Planning on March 10, 2022. Students of the institute spent quality time with the kids with some fun and learning activities like reading and writing, campus tour, making things from origami paper, etc.
