Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators (FNIEA) Fellowship
Dr P N Tekwani, Director, Research & Innovation, Nirma University, received the Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators (FNIEA) Fellowship 2025-26 from the United States-India Educational Foundation to visit higher education institutes in the United States of America and learn best practices. The visit was undertaken from April 10 to 27, 2026.
17th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards
The faculty members of the Institute of Architecture and Planning received recognition across multiple award categories at the 17th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards & Exhibition on ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’, held on April 10, 2026, at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. Organised by the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), the event was graced by Shree Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. The awards ceremony was led by Dr P S Rana, Chairman, CIDC, and attended by distinguished dignitaries, including Dr P R Swarup, Director General, CIDC; Dr Uddesh Kohli, Chairman Emeritus, CIDC; Dr B D Mundhra, Mentor, CIDC; and Mr Pradip Bhargava, IAS (Retd), Chairman of the Jury and Former Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Dr Shweta Suhane was recognised for her project, ‘A Landmark Achievement in Sustainability – The Green Endeavours by Nirma University and Recognition as a ‘Green Campus in Gold Rating Category’ by IGBC’, under Code K – Achievement Award for Sustainable & Advanced Materials/Practices/Process.
Dr Foram Bhavsar received the award for her research project, ‘Analysing Ron Resch Origami Pattern Inspired Static Façade in Enhancing Thermal Performance’, under Code L – Achievement Award for Research & Development in Construction Domain.
Prof Ar Biswanath Mudi and students team were honoured for the project, ‘Sustainable Horizons Initiatives: Where Tradition Meets Innovation’, under Code M – Achievement Award for Creating Social Development and Impact.
National Recognition for Sustainable Innovation Case Study
Prof Poonam Chhaniwal and Prof Diljeetkaur Makhija from the Institute of Management were awarded the Merit Award for their case study titled ‘Thenga: Crafting a Sustainable Future with Coconut Shells’ at the AIMA Case Study Conference and Competition held in New Delhi during May 14-15, 2026. The award recognizes their contribution towards promoting sustainable entrepreneurship and eco-friendly innovation through academic research and case-based learning, highlighting their commitment to socially relevant education and environmental sustainability.
