34th Convocation Ceremony
The 34th Convocation Ceremony of the university was held on November 19, 2025 where 2,936 students from various institutes of the university received their degrees. The ceremony was graced by Dr Neville G Pinto, President, University of Cincinnati, Ohio, United States, as the Chief Guest. Dr Karsanbhai K Patel, President, Nirma University presided over the event. This year Nirma University conferred degrees on 50 PhD, 1055 postgraduate and 1831 undergraduate students. The university also presented 63 medals to 56 students for their exemplary performance in academics.

8th International Conference on Frontiers in Industrial and Applied Mathematics
Institute of Management and Institute of Technology, Nirma University jointly organised the 8th International Conference on Frontiers in Industrial and Applied Mathematics, sponsored by GUJCOST and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of Gujarat, from December 20 to 21, 2025. The chief guest of the inaugural function was Prof Miguel A F Sanjuan, King Juan Coarlos University, Spain. The two-day international conference brought together eminent academicians and researchers from across the world, representing diverse areas of mathematics. The event featured a series of keynote addresses, invited talks, and track presentations, offering a robust platform for academic exchange and interdisciplinary dialogue.
Conference on Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power (FMFP-2025)
The 12th International and 52nd National Conference on Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power (FMFP-2025) was organised at the Institute of Technology during December 19-21, 2025. The conference commenced with an inaugural ceremony chaired by Dr Anup K Singh, Director General, Nirma University, with Dr Narottam Sahoo (Director, GUJCOST) as the Guest of Honour. A major highlight of the inaugural session was the conferring of the ‘Prof B H Lakshmana Gowda Lifetime Achievement Award’ upon Dr Tapan Kumar Sengupta (Professor IIT Kanpur (Retd), and IIT (ISM) Dhanbad).
The conference featured plenary lectures delivered by Dr Tapan Kumar Sengupta, Dr Sanjay Mittal (IIT Kanpur), Dr Adarsh Krishnamurthy (Iowa State University, USA), and Dr Perumal Nithiarasu (Swansea University, UK), covering diverse themes such as fluid-structure interactions, computational representation of complex geometries, digital twins of thermal systems, and advances in computational fluid dynamics.
Further, keynote lectures were conducted by distinguished speakers including Dr Rochish Thaokar and Dr Upendra Bhandarkar (IIT Bombay), Dr Chandan Bose (University of Birmingham, UK), Dr Vagesh Narasimhamurthy and Dr S Vengadesan (IIT Madras), Dr Marcus Herrmann (Arizona State University, USA), Dr Ravi Kumar (IIT Roorkee), Dr Atul Bhargav (IIT Gandhinagar), Dr J Banerjee (SVNIT Surat), Dr Devendra Sharma (Institute of Plasma Research, Gandhinagar), Dr Himanshu Joshi (Eaton Corporation, Pune), and Dr Manmohan Pandey (IIT Guwahati).
Symposium on Urban Building Energy Modelling (UBEM)
The Institute of Architecture & Planning, in collaboration with IDP and The University of Sydney, hosted a symposium on Urban Building Energy Modelling (UBEM) on August 25, 2025. The session was led by Dr Chirag Deb from The University of Sydney and attended by Dr Himanshu Kohli (University of Sydney) and Mr Gopal Gajjar (IDP), among others.
Workshop on Digital Transformation of a Pharmaceutical Company
The Institute of Pharmacy in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services Ltd organised a workshop on ‘Digital Transformation of a Pharmaceutical Company’ on August 30, 2025. The session explored IT-driven transformation, AI applications in drug discovery & clinical research, and the evolving digital landscape in pharmaceuticals, encouraging meaningful discussions on the future of pharma innovation.
Strategic Management: Bridging Theory with Practice
The Institute of Management hosted a series of informative guest lectures as part of Strategic Management Day on September 20, 2025. The first session was led by Mr Samarth Goyal, Founder – Polotribe, who emphasised the importance of accepting cluelessness in a student’s life, characterising it as the first step towards finding the proper path. Mr Hriday Gandhi, Founder – House of Greats, discussed the significance of agility in a dynamic business context. Mr Nitin Vishwas, co-founder – Moonshine Meadery, shared his expertise in navigating a highly regulated market while pioneering a new product category in India.
Future-Ready Solar: Industry Outlook and Inverted Technology Innovations
The Joint IEEE Chapter of IAS, IES, and PELS, in association with the Electrical Engineering Department of the Institute of Technology at Nirma University, hosted a session on ‘Future-Ready Solar: Industry Outlook and Inverted Technology Innovations’ on September 20, 2025. Designed to foster collaboration between industry professionals and academic researchers, the event focused on the dynamic intersection of solar energy and power electronics. With insightful sessions led by Mr Kayan Kalthia from Kasol Energy and Dr Tanmoy Bhattacharya from IIT Kharagpur, participants gained a deeper understanding of the advancements in photovoltaic systems and HVDC converters for renewable integration. Aligned with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, the event highlighted transformative innovations aimed at achieving energy self-reliance and promoting sustainable development.
HR Analytics Workshop
The Institute of Management organised a workshop on ‘HR Analytics: Leveraging Data for Strategic HR Decisions’ by KPMG from October 6-10, 2025 for MBA (HRM) students. The workshop focused on building technical expertise in three key tools – Microsoft Excel, Orange, and Power BI, used for HR data management, analysis, and visualisation.
Utkrishta 25: The Management Conclave
The Institute of Management organised Utkrishta 25: The Management Conclave on October 9-10, 2025. The inaugural address was delivered by Shri Jagdeep Kochar (CEO – IT & IT Services, IMS Group) highlighting customer-centric growth in uncertain contexts. Seminar on Nano Drug Delivery
The Institute of Pharmacy in collaboration with the Centre for Continuing Education and Centre for Advanced Instrumentation, Nirma University, organised a seminar on ‘Nano Drug Delivery’ on October 10, 2025. Dr Prigneshkumar S Patel (Troikaa Pharmaceuticals Ltd) delivered the keynote address on ‘Role of Nanotechnology in the Delivery of Therapeutic Proteins and Peptides’ followed by a technical session by Mr Sunil Patil (Inkarp Instruments) on ‘Applications of High-Pressure Homogenizer (HPH) in Pharmaceutical Industries.’ With over 95 participants from 16 institutes across Gujarat, the event reflected growing interest in nanotechnology-driven pharmaceutical research.
Youth Unscripted: A Dialogue on Independent Thinking
The Institute of Management hosted ‘Youth Unscripted’, featuring Mr Rishabh Shah, Founder of the Indian International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN) and author of ‘Young, Wired & Not Woke’ on November 21, 2025. The session focused on how digital algorithms shape individual thinking and encouraged students to develop independent perspectives beyond curated online content.
Pratidhwani 2025 – The Alumni Conclave
The Institute of Management hosted Pratidhwani 2025 – The Alumni Conclave on December 6, 2025 under the theme ‘Synnovate: Reconnecting Voices to Redefine Tomorrow’. The speaker sessions featured Ms Praneeta Shukla, Head of Strategy, Planning and Execution, Chief of State, RazorPay, and Mr Achin Jain, Head of Sales, Excellence, Nuvoco Corp Ltd, who discussed the Consumer Centric Future, followed by Ms Nidhi Jain Sarda, Fractional CHRO, HR Mentor who highlighted Future Ready People Systems. Post noon, Mr Naresh Golani, Head – Digital Initiatives, CareEdge Group, spoke on the Digital Finance Renaissance, Mr Rajesh Kishanpuriya shared insights on Next Gen Entrepreneurial Ecosystems, and the conclave concluded with Mr Sanjay Shah, Director, MindsyncX Labs LLP, addressing Unlocking the New Efficiency Wave. The sessions collectively offered students valuable perspectives on adaptability, leadership, and future-ready business thinking.
Celebration of Important Days
Kargil Vijay Diwas
The NCC Unit of Nirma University, in association with the 9-Gujarat and 1-Gujarat (Girls) NCC Battalions under the NCC Ahmedabad Group, commemorated the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 25, 2025 at the university campus. The event was organised by NCC cadets of Nirma University to pay tribute to the brave martyrs of the Kargil war who laid down their lives in service to the nation. As part of the tribute, cadets created paintings and posters themed around Kargil Vijay Diwas, along with 3-D cardboard structures depicting mountains, bunkers, and shells to recreate a Kargil-like scenario. The 9-Gujarat Battalion of NCC contributed significantly to the event by providing real weapons such as the 0.22 mm rifle, 7.62 mm SLR rifle, INSAS rifle, along with a prismatic compass, military maps, and several informative charts for display and demonstration purposes.
Independence Day Celebration

Nirma University celebrated the 79th Independence Day with a grand ceremony on its campus, organised by the School of Technology. The event was presided over by Dr Himanshu Soni, Director, School of Technology. The Chief Guest, Dr I P Gautam, IAS (Retd.), Trustee & Chairman of the Executive Council, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Trust, Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad, hoisted the national flag and delivered an inspiring address, reflecting on the values of freedom and nation-building.
The NCC cadets added a striking dimension to the celebration with a disciplined guard of honour and an impressive march past, showcasing their dedication and patriotic spirit. The ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from university officials, heads of institutions and departments, faculty members, staff, and students, all uniting to honour the nation and its rich legacy.
Anti-Ragging Week
The Institute of Management observed Anti-Ragging Week from August 12 to 18, 2025 under the UGC Initiative, in collaboration with the Centre for Youth (C4Y). The week concluded with a session conducted for students featuring the Anti-Ragging Documentary by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The session aimed to sensitise students to the issues of ragging and raise awareness about its serious implications on mental health and campus harmony.
The Institute of Pharmacy organised Anti-Ragging Poster Competition on August 12, 2025 as part of Anti-Ragging Week. A total of 79 students from BPharm and PharmD programmes participated, creating impactful posters promoting respect and inclusivity.
National Pharmacology Day
The Institute of Pharmacy celebrated National Pharmacology Day on August 19, 2025 honouring Dr Colonel Sir Ram Nath Chopra, the Father of Indian Pharmacology. The event featured a panel discussion aligned with the theme ‘Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat’. Distinguished speakers included Dr Shivprakash Rathnam (CEO & Founder Director of Avance Phytotherapeutics), Dr Ashok Thakkar (Vice President and Head at Meril Life Sciences Pvt Ltd), and Dr Chetna Desai (Professor and Head at B J Medical College, Ahmedabad).
World Photography Day
To mark World Photography Day on August 19, 2025 Nirma University hosted a Festive Frames Photography Competition, organised by the Nukta Photography Club under the aegis of the Students’ Welfare Board and coordinated by the Institute of Design. The competition received over 300 entries from more than 100 participants, showcasing creative talent from across the university. A vibrant photo exhibition and prize announcement was held on August 30, 2025, with Kanika Pareek (Institute of Science) securing first place, followed by Sukruti Sheth (Institute of Technology).
National Space Day
To commemorate National Space Day (August 23), themed ‘Viksit Bharat in Orbit: Leading the New Space Race’, the Institute of Pharmacy organised expert webinars under the ISRO-registered Space Tutor Programme. Dr Shashikumar Rode (ICGEB, New Delhi) delivered a session on ‘Microgravity Experiments for Edible Microalgae on the ISS’ on August 5, 2025; and Dr Sandeep Eswarappa (IISc Bangalore) spoke on ‘Life Without Borders: Can Earth Organisms Survive in Space?’ on August 18, 2025.
National Sports Day
Nirma University celebrated National Sports Day in honour of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand on August 29-30, 2025 under the aegis of the Students’ Welfare Board, in collaboration with the Institute of Technology and the Institute of Management. The celebrations featured yoga sessions, basketball and volleyball competitions, drawing enthusiastic participation from over 400 students. The programme also included an oath on fitness and sportsmanship, followed by an interactive discussion highlighting the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle.
Teachers’ Day Celebration
The Institute of Pharmacy celebrated Teachers’ Day on September 5, 2025 with enthusiasm and warmth. Students organised a vibrant programme to honour the contributions of teaching and non-teaching staff, making the occasion lively and memorable. The celebration included interactive musical games, quizzes and fun activities that brought out joyful participation from faculty and staff alike.
The Institute of Commerce celebrated Teachers’ Day on September 5, 2025 with faculty and students coming together in a joyous spirit of gratitude, respect, and celebration, making the occasion truly memorable. The programme commenced with a soulful prayer, setting a serene tone. The celebration included vibrant dance and musical performances, followed by a felicitation ceremony honouring faculty members for their dedication and contribution.
The Institute of Commerce hosted a seminar on September 12, 2025 to honour the rich heritage and significance of the Hindi language. The event featured esteemed guest speaker Mr Yogendra Kumar Batra, an Income Tax Officer, who delivered an inspiring address on the theme ‘Hindi: A Global Voice of Unity and Cultural Pride’. He emphasised the growing global recognition of Hindi and its power to unite diverse communities.
The Institute of Law celebrated Hindi Diwas on September 15, 2025 by organising various activities like a Hindi Quiz, Debate, and Slogan Writing Competition.
National Pharmacovigilance Week
The Institute of Pharmacy celebrated the 5th National Pharmacovigilance Week from September 17-23, 2025 under the theme ‘Your Safety, Just a Click Away: Report to PvPI.’ The week-long celebrations aimed to raise awareness about drug safety and the importance of Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting among students and the wider community. As part of the e-Poster Competition, students showcased innovative approaches to pharmacovigilance, including digital tools, mobile ADR apps and strategies for enhancing patient safety. A social media campaign further extended the reach of these awareness initiatives, sharing informative content and infographics to engage a broader audience.
Pharmacy Week
The Institute of Pharmacy celebrated Pharmacy Week 2025 with a series of academic, community, and awareness-driven initiatives that highlighted the vital role of pharmacists in healthcare. On September 24, 2025, a Nutrition and Body Composition Camp was organised in collaboration with the Department of Biochemistry, Gujarat University and the Indian Dietetic Association. On September 30, 2025, marking World Heart Day, the institute hosted an expert talk on ‘Don’t Miss the Beat: Integrating Pharmacists at the Heart of Cardiac Care Teams,’ in hybrid mode by Dr Disha Shah, PharmD, Medical Advisor at Eris Lifesciences Ltd, Ahmedabad.
World Pharmacist’s Day
The Institute of Pharmacy observed World Pharmacist’s Day on September 25, 2025 with a community outreach programme organised at Hiramani Old Age Home, Ahmedabad. Guided by the theme ‘Think Health, Think Pharmacist,’ the initiative focused on elderly healthcare through a dedicated health camp led by PharmD third-year students. The camp included health screening for lifestyle disorders such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity, along with medication reviews to assess drug use and encourage adherence. Residents also received personalised counselling, which addressed lifestyle modifications, dietary advice, the importance of medication compliance and psychological support. Informative leaflets in the local language were distributed to reinforce the guidance provided.
World Space Week
The Institute of Pharmacy organised ‘Cosmos Confluence 2025’ to celebrate World Space Week 2025, observed globally from October 4-10 every year. The event featured a panel discussion and an e-poster competition based on the theme ‘Dreams to Space Habitats: Humanity’s Next Leap’ on October 8, 2025. Eminent speakers included Shri Krunal Joshi, Scientist-SG, Space Applications Centre (ISRO), Former Counsellor (Space), Embassy of India, Washington DC, USA; Ms Astha Zhala, Space Architect and Founder-CEO, AAKA Space Studio; Dr Maulesh Gadani, Medical Officer, ISRO; and Dr Bhalamurugan Sivaraman, Astrochemist, Physical Research Laboratory (PRL).
Gandhi Jayanti
To commemorate Gandhi Jayanti, the Institute of Law organised a colloquium on ‘Gandhi’s Conception of Truth in Contemporary Media and Politics’ on October 6, 2025. The event was headed by Dr Kunal Kishore, Assistant Professor in Political Science and Dr Vikash Upadhyay, Assistant Professor in Law.
Air Force Day
The NCC Unit of Nirma University organised the 93rd Air Force Day Celebration on October 8, 2025 to honour the valour, discipline, and selfless service of the Indian Air Force personnel who safeguard the nation’s skies. The celebration was graced by Retd Air Commodore Prakash Patel, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. As part of the programme, an Elocution Competition and a Painting Competition were organised, with participation open to all students of the university.
National Unity Day
The NCC Unit of Nirma University, affiliated with the 9 Gujarat Battalion and 1 Gujarat Girls Battalion, celebrated ‘National Unity Day’ on October 31, 2025 to commemorate the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. As part of the event, around 50 NCC cadets along with the Associate NCC Officers of Nirma University took out a rally from university campus to Sardar Dham, near Vaishnodevi Circle, carrying posters and banners promoting the spirit of unity and integrity.
Vigilance Awareness Week
The Institute of Law and the Institute of Commerce, Nirma University, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Taxpayer Services (DGTS), Ahmedabad Zonal Unit, organised a seminar on ‘Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility’ on October 31, 2025 as part of Vigilance Awareness Week. Chief Guest, Shri Chanchal Kumar Tiwari, Joint Director, DGTS Ahmedabad, spoke about the importance of ethical conduct and the DGTS’s role in promoting taxpayer services and good governance. Additionally, Shri Anilkumar Sreedharan, Additional Assistance Director, and Shri Rahul Verma, Inspector, shared their valuable experiences from the field of indirect taxation.
The Institute of Management conducted an interactive Vigilance Awareness Session on October 30, 2025 as part of Vigilance Awareness Week, featuring Mr Shubhendu Mohanty (Chief General Manager & Head – Retail, Gujarat) and Mr Sumanraj Sharma (Chief Manager – Vigilance, HPCL). The speakers emphasised on trust and integrity for competitive edge.
77th NCC Raising Day
The NCC Unit of Nirma University, in collaboration with the 9-Gujarat NCC Battalion and 1-Gujarat (Girls) NCC Battalion, celebrated the 77th NCC Raising Day on November 21, 2025. Colonel Adwitiya Kumar Sinha, Commanding Officer, Golden Katar Division, was the Chief Guest for the occasion. As part of the celebration, NCC cadets organised a Debate Competition on contemporary and thought-provoking topics such as Economic Liberalisation, and Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Armed Forces. The event also featured an elocution competition.
Constitution Day
Students of the Institute of Law participated in Collective Reading of the Preamble to commemorate the Constitution Day on November 26, 2025. The event was organised by The Directorate General of Taxpayer Services (DGTS).
National Consumer Day
The Institute of Commerce organised an online quiz competition on December 24, 2025 to mark National Consumer Day, with the objective of spreading awareness about consumer rights and responsibilities. The quiz covered a wide range of topics, including the Consumer Protection Act, consumer redressal mechanisms, ethical business practices, and current issues related to consumer awareness. Students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating their knowledge and understanding of consumer-related concepts.
Women Development Cell Activities
YASHODA AI on Women’s Rights with NCW India
The Institute of Law conducted YASHODA AI workshop on September 20, 2025 under the aegis of Women Development Cell, in collaboration with the National Commission for Women, India and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The event was graced by Smt Vijaya K Rahatkar, Chairperson of NCW, who addressed the students and emphasised the importance of legal awareness, gender equality, and women’s empowerment.
Breast Cancer Awareness Camp
An awareness camp on ‘Breast Cancer Self-Examination’ was organised by the Institute of Management in collaboration with Zydus Lifesciences on November 25, 2025. Dr Manasi Shah, MBBS, USA Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology at HCG Aastha Cancer Centre, addressed around 150 female students, highlighting the importance of early detection and self-examination. The camp also provided an opportunity for participants to undergo preliminary check-ups. Mr Ashish Kumar, Senior Vice President, Zydus Lifesciences, also addressed the audience.
Insight Forum – Beyond Gender: Voices for an Inclusive Tomorrow
The Women Development Cell of the Institute of Management organised an Insight Forum on the theme ‘Beyond Gender: Voices for an Inclusive Tomorrow’ on December 9, 2025. The session was led by Dr Falguni Vasavada, Professor at MICA, renowned TEDx Speaker, content creator, and fashion influencer, who shared compelling perspectives on gender equity, inclusivity, identity expression, and breaking societal stereotypes. Through interactive discussions, real-life narratives, and reflective short films, students explored themes of equity, mutual respect, shared responsibilities, and the need to challenge patriarchal structures in contemporary society.

Build Your Startup
Build Your Startup 7.0, the flagship startup hackathon of E-Cell, Nirma University was organised from August 1 to 3, 2025. The event aimed to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit by providing aspiring founders with mentorship, knowledge, and a platform to transform ideas into viable ventures. The hackathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from 116 students across 15 teams representing various institutes of the university. The event included a ‘Pitching Workshop’ by Mr Pankaj Mall, industry expert, who guided participants on effective storytelling and presentation strategies; and a session on the ‘Business Model Canvas’ by Mr Swarup Pandya, Seed VC at IIMA Ventures, focusing on building scalable business frameworks. Participants also benefited from mentoring sessions by start-up leaders Mr Maharsh Shah (Co-Founder, Meal Pe), Ms Ekta Shah (Co-Founder and CEO, Biziverse), Mr Sneh Bhavsar (Founder Director, Stimulus Co), and Ms Himani Kankariya (Founder, Missive Digital). The grand finale saw shortlisted teams pitch before judges Mr Tanmay Shah, Founder and CEO, Friday Fiction Films and Mr Yash Shah, Co-Founder, Momentum 91.
NASA International Space Apps Challenge
The Entrepreneurship Cell, Nirma University hosted the NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2025 at its campus from October 4-6, 2025. The three-day event saw an impressive turnout with over 800 registrations and 95+ teams from more than 45 colleges across India. Padma Shri & Padma Bhushan, Dr B N Suresh, Chancellor of IIST was the Chief Guest at the inauguration ceremony. Over the 48-hour event, participants worked on 19 problem statements provided by NASA. To support their efforts, 14 industry experts and academicians served as mentors. Students team from Government Polytechnic College & L J College stood first, while Nirma University students team stood second.

A workshop on ‘Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Practices’ was organised by the E-cell Nirma University in association with Institute of Pharmacy on December 17-18, 2025. The workshop featured expert sessions by Dr Samir Sangitrao (Vice President & Head – Regulatory Affairs and R&D QA, Zydus Group) and Mr Dhaval Samani (Director – Business Development, Pharmexpert Consultant LLP).

The Department of Civil Engineering, Institute of Technology organised a training programme on ‘Fundamentals of Concrete Technology’ for officials of Kamal Cement from November 13 to 15, 2025.
Mock Fire Rescue Drill
In a proactive move to reinforce safety awareness and emergency response readiness, a Mock Fire Rescue Drill was conducted at the university campus on August 1, 2025. The initiative was led by the Ahmedabad Fire Fighting Department, in close coordination with NCC cadets, NSS volunteers and university authorities. This simulation exercise was part of a broader safety preparedness campaign aimed at sensitising the university community about real-time emergency protocols and ensuring that all stakeholders are well-equipped to respond swiftly and effectively in case of a fire-related emergency. Participants were briefed by the Ahmedabad Fire Fighting Department officials on evacuation procedures, fire suppression techniques, and coordination strategies to minimise risks during actual incidents. The drill witnessed active participation from faculty members, students, administrative staff, security personnel, housekeeping teams, and support staff from various service providers.
Deshraag – Patriotic Song Competition
Deshraag, a Patriotic Song Competition was organised on August 2, 2025 under the aegis of the Students’ Welfare Board. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 11 teams, comprising eight student teams and three faculty-staff teams. In the student category, the School of Engineering emerged as the winner, followed by the School of Technology as the runner-up, while in the faculty-staff category, the School of Engineering secured first place and the Institute of Commerce finished as runner-up.
Tiranga Rally
A Tiranga Rally was organised on August 14, 2025 under the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative to commemorate the 79th Independence Day of India, under the aegis of the Students’ Welfare Board, with the School of Technology as the host institute. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff, who marched across the campus carrying tricolour flags and patriotic placards, celebrating the spirit of freedom, unity, and national pride.
Prevoyance’25, a technical fest organised by the Electronics and Communication Students Organisation (ECO) was held on August 2-3, 2025. The fest featured competitions such as RoboWars, Path Seeker, Circuit Craze, Code Crawl, and Student of the Year, promoting technical excellence and innovation.
Technocalypse 2025, organised by the Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association (MESA) on August 23-24, 2025, engaged 108 school students from eight schools. The two-day event included workshops on Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Robotics, and Automobiles, followed by competitions in CAD, Poster Presentation, and Quiz, with winners felicitated during the valedictory ceremony.
The ISA Students’ Chapter, Gujarat Section, Nirma University, hosted Technofora’25 from August 22-24, 2025, themed ‘Game of Thrones.’ With over 500 registrations and a prize pool of Rs 50,000 the event celebrated innovation in automation, robotics, and control systems.
Orientation Programme
The Institute of Science organised Orientation programme from July 7 to 11, 2025 for the MSc freshers of Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Biochemistry disciplines. Prof Gaurisankar Sa, ICMR Emeritus Scientist was the Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony.
The Orientation week for the PharmD Batch of 2025 was held from July 14 to 18, 2025 at the Institute of Pharmacy. The Chief Guest, Dr Bina Naik, Founder & Chairperson of Soma Healthcare Solutions, inspired students with insights from her global experience in clinical research. The week concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony that included the White Coat Ceremony and Pharmacy Pledge – a symbolic moment marking the students’ transition into the professional world of pharmacy. Further, the Institute of Pharmacy welcomed its BPharm Semester I students through a vibrant Induction Programme held during November 6-7, 2025. Over the course of the two days, students were introduced to the university’s vision and values, academic framework, digital platforms, student support systems, and co-curricular opportunities.
The Institute of Law organised Orientation programme from July 19 to 31, 2025 for the incoming students. Expert sessions were delivered by Mr Rohan Batra, Partner, Anagram Partners; Mr Anish Baheti, Founder, Train My Brain; Mr Santosh Mane, General Counsel, Zydus Wellness, and Mr Malav Deliwala, Head – Corporate Legal, Adani Group, among others.
The Institute of Technology organised Orientation programme for the newly admitted BTech First Year students from July 21 to Aug 1, 2025. During this period, students engaged in a variety of activities, including motivational talks, academic orientation, site visits, awareness programmes on anti-ragging, health & hygiene, women development cell initiatives, and student welfare activities such as NCC and NSS.
The Institute of Management organised an Orientation programme for the Integrated BBA-MBA and the inaugural batch of BBA (Hons) from July 21 to 25, 2025, and July 21 to 30, 2025, respectively. The programme featured sessions by eminent experts including Mr Deepak Tamoli, Senior GM at Wagh Bakri; Mr Mohit Mangal, CEO of iQue Foundation; Mr Kartikeya Sarabhai, Founder of CEE; Ms Saloni Sureka, Sr Manager at HDFC Life; Mr Siddhartha Nangia, Co-Founder of Smytten; and Dr Kapil Maithal, President – Vaccines and Diagnostics, Zydus Lifesciences, who shared insights on leadership, innovation, and career development.
The Institute of Technology organised its Orientation programme for the BTech (Batch 2025-2029) from July 21 to August 1, 2025. The programme introduced students to academic regulations, research opportunities, student associations, cybersecurity awareness, entrepreneurship, and institutional support systems including NCC, NSS, Anti-Ragging Cell, and Women Development Cell.
The Institute of Architecture and Planning organised the Orientation programme for BArch students from August 19 to 30, 2025 to familiarise students with the curriculum, pedagogy, hands-on workshops, and campus life, while providing an overview of the university’s infrastructure and learning environment. Additionally, the Orientation programme for MPlan students was conducted from August 11 to 14, 2025 introducing students to the academic, professional, and institutional aspects of the programme.
Foundation Day
The Institute of Law celebrated its 19th Foundation Day on August 18, 2025. Professor D P Verma, Member, Law Commission of India, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The institute felicitated senior professors for their contributions, faculty members for academic achievements and publications, and students for excellence in academics, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities. The celebration reflected on the institute’s journey, reaffirmed its present commitments, and envisioned its future growth and excellence.
The Institute of Architecture and Planning celebrated its 11th Foundation Day on August 29, 2025. Shri Vishal Vyas, Chief Architect and Town Planner, Government of Gujarat, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered a talk on ‘Architectural Education and Practice’. The programme also featured expert talks by Architect Surya Kakani on ‘Anchoring Practice and Structuring Thought’ and Prof Utpal Sharma, Nirma University, on ‘Learning from the Historic Cities’.
The Institute of Science celebrated its 22nd Foundation Day on September 6, 2025. Dr Debasisa Mohanty, Director, National Institute of Immunology, commemorated the session as the Chief Guest and shared insights about the role of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on biological science. Further, a Poster Presentation competition organised for MSc and PhD students of the institute was evaluated by external experts, Dr Sharmishtha Majumdar and Dr Dhaval Patel from IIT Gandhinagar and Gujarat Biotechnology University, respectively.
The Institute of Management, celebrated its 30th Foundation Day on September 24, 2025 marking three decades of academic excellence and institutional growth. The event was graced by Mr Sanjay Kaul, Senior IAS Officer and Managing Director & Group CEO of GIFT City, as the Chief Guest. The celebration also featured the felicitation of outstanding academic achievers from the BBA and MBA programmes, recognising their dedication and academic excellence.

Vidyut Adbhutam 2025
The Electrical Engineering Students’ Association (EESA), Institute of Technology, hosted ‘Vidyut Adbhutam’ 2025 on September 6, 2025. The event featured a mix of competitions and sessions – from Tech De-Battle and Silent Clues to NeuroBytes and VoltEdge – each designed to challenge minds and spark curiosity. Engaging formats such as Brain Blitz, Drishtikon, and Pitch Perfect further fostered dialogue and innovative thinking among participants.
Kshitij 2025
The Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association (MESA), Institute of Technology, organised its technical festival ‘Kshitij 2025’ on September 19-20, 2025. The event featured a talk show with invited alumni guests, project and poster presentations, technical workshops on ANSYS, Robotics, and CAD/CAM, as well as a technical quiz, among other engaging activities.
SPIC MACAY Classical Music Concert
The Institute of Pharmacy under the aegis of the Students’ Welfare Board, hosted a SPIC MACAY classical music concert on December 16, 2025. The evening featured a mesmerising sitar recital by Pt Vijay Kumar Sant Ji, a renowned Sitar artist, accompanied by Shri Sapan Anjaria on tabla. The soul-stirring performance beautifully captured the timeless essence of Indian classical music, creating a truly enriching cultural experience.
Raas Garba 2025
Nirma University hosted a Garba night on October 4, 2025 bringing together over 4000 students, faculty, and staff members. The evening resonated with the joyous energy of Garba and a strong sense of community. Participants were felicitated with trophies for outstanding Garba performances and best traditional attire, adding an extra sparkle to the festive night.
Chemozale 2025
The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) Student Chapter of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Institute of Technology hosted its annual technical fest ‘Chemozale 2025: Technology for a Sustainable Future’ from October 10-12, 2025. Chemozale 2025 featured an engaging lineup of events including, Trade to Zero, Perfumora, Sustainopoly, The Contaminator, Logisphere, ChemXplore and Research Symposium, blending technical rigour with teamwork and fun.
Elysian 2025
The Institute of Commerce hosted its flagship cultural festival, Elysian 2025, on November 7-8, 2025. Chief Guest on this occasion, IPS Shri Rajan Susra, DIGP, Gujarat Police, encouraged students to balance discipline with creativity and pursue lifelong learning. Across two days, Elysian featured a rich blend of academic, literary, artistic, technical, and performing arts events.
Field Visits
Reimagining Ahmedabad’s Stepwells as Living Public Spaces
The Institute of Architecture and Planning conducted an Ahmedabad Field studio from June 19 to July 3, 2025. This innovative academic exercise brought together forty-two undergraduate students, to explore, document, and redesign the city’s historic stepwells through the lens of public engagement, sustainability, and cultural continuity. While these structures hold immense historical and aesthetic value, many of them remain underutilized and disconnected from the everyday life of the city. The objective of the studio was to reclaim these stepwells as active urban common spaces that can support inclusive public life, social gathering, cultural programming, and environmental awareness. Students envisioned stepwells as amphitheaters, reading corners, marketplaces, play areas, and community pavilions-keeping the architectural integrity intact while enriching their relevance in contemporary life.
Related Study Programme in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu
The National Related Study Programme (RSP) for the First Year BArch students was conducted from June 23 to July 3, 2025 in and around Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu. The programme involved a total of 126 students accompanied by five faculty members. The core objective of the RSP was to enable students to learn from the existing built environment, focusing on the architectural vocabulary, building techniques, and spatial planning of traditional houses.
Field Studio in Portugal and Spain
A design-based field studio and related study programme were conducted during June 25 to July 8, 2025 in Portugal and Spain for students of the Institute of Architecture and Planning. The students interacted with various experts including Ar Mariana Paisana, a local practicing Architect at Res do Chao Architecture and Urbanism firm in Lisbon. They also interacted with the city of Lisbon official Manual Banca, who had carried out heat island study. They also learned a great deal from Professor Pedro from Lisbon School of Architecture, University of Lisboa who conducted a walking tour of several neighborhoods and landmarks of Lisbon.
Industrial Visit to Amul Madhur Dairy Plant
Students of the Integrated MBA programme undertook an industrial visit to the Amul Madhur Dairy Plant on December 20, 2025. The visit provided students with valuable insights into large-scale dairy operations, including milk procurement, processing, quality control, and supply chain management. Through guided interactions and facility walkthroughs, students gained a practical understanding of how operational efficiency and cooperative business models function in a real-world industrial setting.
Industrial Visit to HOF Pharmaceuticals Ltd
BPharm Semester VI students undertook an industrial visit to HOF Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Sanand, during December 22-23, 2025 where they received hands-on exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, quality assurance systems and the professional industrial environment. The visit enhanced students’ understanding of real-world applications of theoretical knowledge and served as an effective platform for bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practices.
Related Study Programme to Kolkata, Shantiniketan, and Bishnupur
Students from the Institute of Architecture and Planning undertook a Related Study Programme to Kolkata, Shantiniketan, and Bishnupur from December 12 to 25, 2025. The programme included immersive, hands-on workshops in glass fusion, lino-cut printing, and textile arts at Visva-Bharati University, Shantiniketan, conducted by eminent practitioners and academicians, including Prof Sisir Kumar Sahana, Director and Prof Bhavna Khajuria, Vice Principal of Kala Bhavan at Visva-Bharati University. Further, the 16th century terracotta temples of Bishnupur deepened students’ understanding of material expression, demonstrating the architectural potential of brick and clay in shaping enduring cultural landmarks.
Expert Talks
Dr Jay Kandampully,Professor, The Ohio State University, USA delivered a session on ‘Navigating Scholarly Publishing: Strategies for High-Impact Journals’ for faculty members and PhD scholars of the Institute of Management on July 11, 2025. He highlighted key aspects of academic publishing and emphasised the irreplaceable role of human insight despite the growing use of AI in research.
Mr Debabrata Sarkar, TEDx speaker delivered a talk on ‘Life: Learning or Winning’at the Institute of Management on July 17, 2025. He encouraged students to move beyond a win-lose mindset, view failures as learning opportunities, and embrace humility, resilience, and purpose-driven growth.
Dr Chirantan Chatterjee, Professor, University of Sussex, UK,delivered sessions on ‘Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education’ and ‘Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Research’ at the Institute of Management on July 31, 2025 offering insights into the evolving role of AI in academia and research.
Prof Dhrupad Mathur, SP Jain Global, Dubaidelivered a talk on ‘Technology Resurgence and Industry Revolution 4.0’ at the Institute of Management on August 2, 2025. He discussed the evolution of drones, real-world BI applications, and the balance between technology, ethics, and governance.
