I-Hub Start up Srujan Seed Support

The Institute of Design Semester 7 students Joel Yeldo Alias, Anurag Nambiar, Diya Gupta, and Ananya Shah have created (halo) shield, a safety device which has also been selected as a product design finalist for the Taiwan International Student Design Competition. The device senses hazardous industrial environments, analyses data in real time, and predicts potential hazards before time. The (halo) shield uses RFID encoded data on each device, which, when scanned, gives anyone information on the owner’s medical history. This project has been awarded Rs 5 lakh as part of the I-Hub Start up Srujan Seed Support Programme by the Government of Gujarat. The key elements of the project are to eliminate accidents, injuries, and exposure to harmful chemicals, raise workplace standards and efficiency, and reduce disruptions and downtime. The underlying technology is IoT, which allows for scaling the network of devices up or down based on the size of the workplace.
